First, to see what would be left when we take out the hero(es), but also because the word «tintin» itself, an old French slang term, means : zilch, bupkiss, nada…i.e. «nothing at all!». The next phase of the project would be to produce full-size versions of the 23 altered covers for an art exhibition. She received national recognition for her relief portrait of Franklin Delano Roosevelt which was the model for his image on the dime. She was committed to teaching art to others, so she established the Selma Burke Art School in New York City and opened the Selma Burke Art Center in Pittsburgh, PA. (Smithsonian Institution)
